“Seven Sketches of Loss”
Some Press extracts

“Improvised music has always been a dreamlike experience to me. From silence to something, without knowing where that "something" will begin, how it’ll unfold, when it’ll end.
Breaking free from tempo and harmonic constraints isn’t just liberating: it's often revealing, like free association is in talking therapies.
Hands wander freely, modulating into other keys, shifting time signatures, extending bars, establishing ostinatos, weaving counterpoints. No fences, no barriers. Just the unconscious taking over.
At the heart of my live performances lies this ideal jump in the void, but the aim isn’t to fly: the aim is to fall into a dream.”

This rehearsal of my variations on “Cinema Paradiso” shows a bit of the concept behind my recitals: taking a famous melody and breaking it down into several forms and styles, intertwining rhythms, tempo and accents. It’s a melting pot I’ve been experimenting with a lot, lately, and love performing it live.
